What exactly is Energy Work?

"Energy is information that moves"-  Cyndi Dale

Einstein proved decades ago that everything in this world is made up of energy.  The goal of subtle energy work is to look how the balance of a person's physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing can be improved.  Energy medicine techniques allow for a holistic approach and believes that the most subtle energetic shifts can result in relief and growth.  Energy work utilizes visualization, meditation, connection and intuition to shift the energy around a topic or feeling.   Have you ever felt stuck and frustrated trying to think through a decision you must make?  Then you either take a walk outside or hear the thoughtful words of someone and find the way you see the situations completely shifted?  THAT is energy in action.   Energy practitioners believe that our physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing is impacted by our past experiences and traumas, the flow of energy through our subtle energy systems (chakras, meridians) and impacted by our beliefs that can limit and sabotage.   The  goal of energy work is to help identify those influencing factors, alleviate the stressors they are causing as well as create positive practices that serve you and your life goals.

What is Reiki?

International Center For Reiki Training states that "Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy."   To me Reiki facilitates our ability to directly connect to unconditional life force energy, or love.   Reiki allows us to heal emotional, spiritual and physical discomfort. Reiki is not a religion nor is it not supportive of modern medicine.  By inviting reiki in, we allow our energy to move as it should through out our bodies, releasing what no longer serves and increasing what we lack.  It is a healing tool which on its best day can manifest miracles and on its absolutely worse day help you relax.

Tell me about Reiki class.

Due to current circumstances, all Reiki trainings are held online, via zoom.  Each class runs from 10 am to 4 pm.   One week prior to the class date, you will be invited to a private Facebook page for your class.  The FB page is there for students to connect and share throughout the process.  Class begins with instruction regarding the foundational principles of the specific level of Reiki.  After the foundation is laid and the mechanics taught, each student receives an attunement.  An attunement is a sacred rite of passage where the Master Teacher connects your energetic pathways with that of Reiki energy.  After a break, we return to class to put into practice the energy we now have access to.  Each level is taught protocols for the ethical and responsible sharing of reiki.  During class practical examples of how to implement reiki into your daily life is shared.  Finally, students are supported and given the tools to complete the 21 Day Self-Cleanse.

Self-Cleanse?  What's that?

Every level of Reiki asks its students to participate in a 21 day self-cleanse.  It takes some time for your body to acclimate to the new frequency of energy. The cleanse is 21 days to provide Reiki the opportunity to clear and heal all seven chakras in three complete cycles.  Another purpose for the 21 day cleanse is the belief that before you heal others, you offer healing to yourself.  When we share reiki we are acting as a channel or conduit for the energy.   It is our hope that we provide ourselves healing so that when we do share reiki, we are a clear channel for optimal energy exchange.  Practicing on ourselves gives us confidence and a sense of calm that benefits those we may choose to share with.
